Expanded Seating for a Bigger Crowd
One of the most significant changes was the increase in seating capacity. The stadium, which previously accommodated 21,500 spectators, can now hold over 34,000 fans. Enclosures were moved 20 feet closer to the action, bringing spectators closer to the on-field drama. New imported seats and high-resolution replay screens were also installed, enhancing the match-day experience for fans.
World-Class Facilities for Players and Officials
The pavilion area received a major upgrade, now offering five-star facilities for players, match officials, and VIP guests. The dressing rooms, media areas, and corporate hospitality sections were revamped to align with the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) highest standards.
Better Lighting and Broadcast Quality
To improve the broadcast experience, the PCB upgraded the floodlight towers with the latest LED lighting technology. This ensures better visibility for night matches and a sharper viewing experience for global audiences.
