BPL 2025 FINAL: Fortune Barishal successfully defended their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) crown in a dramatic final, chasing down 195 against Chittagong Kings with three wickets and three balls to spare at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The chase, the second-highest in a men’s T20 final, was anchored by Tamim Iqbal’s explosive 54 off 29 balls, followed by a crucial middle-order contribution from Kyle Mayers and a match-winning cameo from Rishad Hossain.
Chittagong Kings had set a formidable total of 194 for 3, thanks to an unbeaten 78 from Parvez Hossain Emon and Khawaja Nafay’s 66. Their 121-run opening partnership gave Chittagong a dream start, but Barishal’s bowlers managed to contain them in the final overs, with Mohammad Ali impressing with figures of 1 for 21.
In response, Tamim came out firing, smashing boundaries in the powerplay. However, Shoriful Islam triggered a middle-order collapse, taking 4 for 34. Mayers’ quickfire 46 kept Barishal in the game before Rishad sealed the win with two late sixes.
