‘Even in a Wheelchair!’ – MS Dhoni’s Bold Claim on IPL Future Goes Viral!

MS Dhoni might have retired from international cricket back in 2020, but when it comes to the IPL, he’s still very much in the game. As the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) prepare for their IPL 2025 opener against Mumbai Indians, the chatter about Dhoni’s future refuses to die down.

But Dhoni himself has put an end to all speculation. Speaking ahead of CSK’s first match, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter made it clear that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

“I can play as long as I want for CSK. This is my franchise. Even if I’m in a wheelchair, they’ll drag me along,” Dhoni joked during a chat on JioHotstar.

Gaikwad Praises Dhoni’s Influence

CSK’s new skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, had nothing but admiration for the 43-year-old icon. He highlighted Dhoni’s ability to still strike the ball cleanly, inspiring both young and experienced players in the squad.

“Some of the new guys struggle to hit the ball as well as he does. It’s amazing to watch,” Gaikwad said on the eve of CSK’s match against Mumbai Indians. “At 43, what he’s doing is incredible. Hopefully, he’ll keep delivering crucial knocks for us this season.”

Dhoni’s Training Philosophy

When it comes to training, Dhoni keeps things simple. His focus remains on power-hitting and staying in the best shape possible.

“He doesn’t overdo it. He knows exactly what he needs to do for his role in the team,” Gaikwad shared. “It’s all about getting the right swing, hitting sixes, and staying sharp.”

The CSK legend is expected to bat lower down the order this season, likely in the No. 7 or No. 8 spot. But if history has taught us anything, it’s that Dhoni always finds a way to make an impact—no matter his position in the lineup.

With IPL 2025 kicking off, one thing is clear—MS Dhoni isn’t done just yet.
