Kolkata Knight Riders Begin Pre-Season Training Ahead of IPL 2025

Defending IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have begun their pre-season preparations with a week-long training camp in Mumbai, running from February 21-28. This camp focuses on fitness, skill training, and team bonding before the squad shifts to Kolkata in March for their main pre-tournament camp.

Domestic Stars Leading the Charge

The Mumbai camp brings together nine key domestic players, helping them build early momentum before the new season. Leading the group are Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh, alongside promising names like Ramandeep Singh, Vaibhav Arora, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. The squad also includes Mayank Markande and Luvnith Sisodia, adding fresh talent to the team.

Focus Areas: Strength, Skill & Team Bonding

Under the watchful eye of head coach Chandrakant Pandit, the camp features:
Strength and conditioning sessions
Skill training in the nets
Match simulation exercises
Team bonding activities

Coach Chandrakant Pandit emphasized the importance of the camp, stating,

“This is a routine part of our preparations. The main camp in Kolkata starts from March 12, where international players will join after the ICC Champions Trophy. Having our core group intact is a huge advantage, and we are confident about our team combinations.”
