Rahul Dravid Mocks RCB’s Home Record with Pre-Match Joke

Rahul Dravid is back at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium – not in red and gold this time, but leading the Rajasthan Royals as head coach. And just before the big RCB vs RR clash, the legendary batter served up a spicy one-liner that has cricket fans talking.

“Got any ex-RCB players? Play them immediately!”

That was Dravid’s playful jab when asked about RR’s chances in Bengaluru – a ground that’s becoming a curse for its home team.

The RCB Return Curse Is Real

If you’ve followed IPL 2025, you already know. The ‘RCB Return’ curse has taken over the internet. One by one, ex-RCB stars like KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Mohammed Siraj have come back to the Chinnaswamy and schooled their former team. Now, it’s Rahul Dravid’s turn to see if he can ride the same wave.

RR needs it. Badly.

They’ve lost four matches in a row and are struggling at the bottom half of the table with just two wins in eight games. And their away form hasn’t helped either.

Dravid’s Calm… With a Hint of Fire

Despite the Royals’ rough patch, Dravid remains chill.

“It’s not about emotions or returning to RCB,” he said, brushing off the sentimental angle. “We just want to play good cricket. We still have a shot at this tournament.”

Still, that cheeky remark shows the fire’s very much there. With RR boasting ex-RCB players like Wanindu Hasaranga and Shimron Hetmyer, there’s a little extra spice heading into this clash.

Can Dravid Flip the Script?

RCB has been unbeatable away from home this season… but still winless at home. So, will Dravid – one of their earliest heroes – become the latest to add to that haunting trend?

“We’ve played good cricket, even in close losses,” he said. “It’s just about seizing those key moments.”

One thing’s clear: All eyes are on Thursday’s match at Chinnaswamy. Will Rahul Dravid’s Royals rise again? Or will RCB finally break the curse?
