Format
The tournament features eight top-ranked ODI teams divided into two groups of four. Group A includes Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, and Pakistan, while Group B comprises Afghanistan, Australia, England, and South Africa. Each team plays the others in their group once, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The final is scheduled for March 9 in Lahore; however, if India qualifies, the venue will shift to Dubai due to diplomatic considerations.
This edition marks the return of the ICC Champions Trophy after an eight-year hiatus, with Pakistan hosting an ICC event for the first time in 28 years.
