Rohit Sharma patience snapped as the team bus left Adelaide without Yashasvi Jaiswal on Wednesday morning, just hours before the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India was supposed to fly out to Brisbane, but Jaiswal was notably missing.
According to a report from Sports Tak, Jaiswal, usually on time, arrived 20 minutes late to the team lobby. The late arrival didn’t sit well with captain Rohit Sharma, who reportedly lost his cool and even stepped off the bus to ask the logistics manager to search for Jaiswal. After a brief discussion, the bus eventually headed out for Brisbane without the opener.
Jaiswal was eventually found and a car was arranged to take him to the airport. A senior security officer accompanied him to make sure he got there on time.
Practice Session in Brisbane
Once in Brisbane, the Indian team took a well-deserved day off before returning to practice on Thursday. The spotlight was on the senior pros, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who need to step up after a tough pink ball Test in Adelaide.
Kohli was in his usual energetic mood during practice, giving a pep talk to the team and working closely with assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate to iron out his issues with deliveries outside the off-stump. Although he scored a century in Perth’s second innings, Kohli’s dismissal pattern remains a concern.
Rohit, who struggled in the pink ball Test, is expected to bat in the middle order, with Jaiswal and KL Rahul likely to open for India. The five-match series is tied at 1-1, and all eyes will be on how the senior players respond in Brisbane.
