The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have bolstered their coaching setup ahead of the IPL 2025 season by appointing former Indian all-rounder Sridharan Sriram as their assistant bowling coach. The franchise officially announced the move on social media, welcoming Sriram into their star-studded support staff.
A Familiar Face in the Coaching Circuit
Sriram is no stranger to the IPL, having worked with multiple franchises over the years. His IPL coaching journey began with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2010, followed by stints with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
His international coaching experience is equally impressive—Sriram was a key part of Australia’s coaching staff from 2016 to 2022, where he worked closely with off-spin maestro Nathan Lyon. In 2024, he took on the role of technical consultant for Bangladesh, adding another feather to his cap.
Mentoring CSK’s Spin Arsenal
With CSK known for its spin-friendly conditions at Chepauk, Sriram’s arrival could prove crucial. He will be working with an experienced group of spinners, including Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal, and Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad. His expertise in developing spinners will be vital as CSK aims to maintain its dominance in the tournament.
CSK’s Coaching Lineup for IPL 2025
Sriram joins an already formidable coaching team, which includes:
- Stephen Fleming (Head Coach)
- Mike Hussey (Batting Coach)
- Eric Simons (Fast-Bowling Consultant)
With a wealth of experience backing them, CSK looks set to challenge for yet another IPL title.

The five-time champions will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign with a highly anticipated clash against Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 23. Fans will be eager to see how Sriram’s influence shapes CSK’s bowling unit as they look to dominate once again.
With a mix of seasoned stars and young talent, CSK’s title defense just got stronger—and Sriram’s addition could be a game-changer for their spin attack.
