SRH vs RR IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) kicked off their IPL 2025 campaign in style, securing a commanding 44-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR). The star of the show? Ishan Kishan, who lit up the stage with a blistering century on his SRH debut.
Kishan’s Fireworks Lead SRH to Massive Total
Batting first, SRH put on a batting masterclass, amassing a colossal 286/6—just one run shy of the all-time IPL record. Kishan was unstoppable, hammering an unbeaten 106 off just 47 balls. His innings was well-supported by Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Reddy, and Abhishek Sharma, all of whom played their part in setting up a daunting total.
RR’s Chase Falls Short Despite Samson & Jurel’s Fightback
Chasing 287 was always going to be a tough task, and RR found themselves in trouble early. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and Nitish Rana fell inside the powerplay, putting the Royals on the back foot. Despite a spirited fight from captain Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70), RR couldn’t keep up with the required rate and finished at 242/6.
SRH, already known for their explosive batting, have once again shown why they are a team to watch this season. With Kishan seamlessly fitting into the lineup and the top order firing on all cylinders, the question remains—can they become the first team to breach the 300-run mark in IPL history?
